
August 15, 2026; Shri Ram Centennial School (SRCS) celebrated India's 80th Independence Day on campus with solemn dignity, enthusiasm, and deep patriotic pride. The event brought together students, educators, and staff to honour the nation’s sovereignty and the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.
The occasion was dignified by the presence of Col. (Retd.) Pankaj Tuknait, who served as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest along with the Principal unfurled the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
The program commenced with a cordial welcome by the Principal, Ms. Sunita Singh Chouhan, who presented a floral bouquet and a commemorative memento to Col. Tuknait.
A series of cultural presentations reflected the spirit of unity and nationhood.
The school choir delivered stirring renditions of patriotic compositions. Students presented synchronized classical and contemporary folk dances dedicated to the motherland. Expressive poetry recitations captured the sacrifices and aspirations of contemporary India.
Addressing the assembly, Col. (Retd.) Pankaj Tuknait shared motivating experiences from his military service, urging students to embody discipline, civic responsibility, and resilience. Principal Ms. Sunita Singh Chouhan echoed these sentiments, encouraging students to contribute purposefully to nation-building through academic excellence and sound character.
Student anchors Veera Shinde and Kanishk Sathe conducted the stage proceedings with composure. The profile of the Chief Guest and the formal Vote of Thanks were delivered by Ms. Deepa Awasthi (Coordinator). The day’s proceedings concluded with the customary distribution of sweets among all attendees.
